Designed by professionals for professionals, MixPad Multitrack Recording Software is a high-end audio utility designed to help you record, mix, enhance, and save audio mashups in the highest quality possible. Besides, it offers support for an unlimited number of tracks, a built-in library of sounds and effects, the option to use VST plug-ins, and a wealth of configurable effects.
Suitable for musicians, DJs, and music lovers alike, MixPad is as comprehensive as you would expect from a professional recording, mixing, and editing tool. Following NCH’s long tradition in optimizing synergies, some of the options available in the different menus will actually download and install a full other NCH app, such as WavePad for editing audio in a professional manner. This is possible thanks to NCH’s free-for-home-use policy, as most (if not all) NCH apps are free for non-commercial use and MixPad and all the other NCH apps it may ask you to add to your desktop are no exception.
The program has been designed to mix audio tracks in the most intuitive way. You can do this by recording your own tracks – say, individual instruments and voices in different tracks – or by importing pre-recorded tracks into the program’s interface. Tracks are shown as waveforms, and you can name them in whatever way helps you to organize your mix. You can then enhance your individual tracks in various ways – by editing the tracks using WavePad Editor, by adding audio effects to them (equalization, reverb, etc.), by including sound effects from the built-in library, or by loading any VST plug-in you may have on your computer. The final mix can be saved in various audio formats (including MP3), burnt to disc, or uploaded to your preferred storage service.
MixPad Multitrack Recording Software is a professional audio tool that anyone interested in creating multi-track audio files or simply mashups of different audio files can rely on. As mentioned, you can use the Home Edition completely free of charge as long as you don’t make any commercial use of it. Even if you buy a license, this version has some limitations – no VST support and a limitation of 16 tracks. The Master’s Edition, however, includes all features and supports an unlimited number of tracks.
